Party Work
Antrim
I have taken up issues in areas like Bush Manor, the Meadows and now in New Park and Caulside to try to ensure that all problems are tackled continually and systematically until resolved. This I will try to do for any area that I am called into.
Templepatrick
I have persistently campaigned on traffic problems, speeding and the state of the roads as well as the need for a relief road or bypass to the airport – which is vital. Crime remains high on the agenda.
Parkgate
I welcome the fading of the plans for the quarry. Traffic, better parking and the need for a youth play group remain high on my agenda.
Nutts Corner
Noise issues remain a consistent pressure. Along with other MLAs, I continually try to resolve the racetrack/rural dwelling conflict.
Toombridge/Randalstown/A6 By-pass
Along with Councillor Stephen Nicholl and other MLAs I have brought consistent pressure to bear to help cause this expensive scheme to be dropped. We must now work to ensure that this is not a temporary lapse. TIDAL needs to be congratulated for all its work.
Crumlin/Glenavy
We welcome the planned and eagerly awaited investment in the town and I will continue to work with Crumlin Together and the Crumlin Improvement Association to help improve the essential needs of the town. We will fight for proper play space and work with industry to ensure that we get the right result with Rose Energy
Mallusk
I have enjoyed renewing my relationship with Mallusk where I spent the first six years of my life. I have been frustrated at the failure to reduce the speed on the road, but am heartened by the improvements that the community group have managed to achieve with the waste site. Hopefully we will have similar success with the Ballyvesey Scrapyard.
Loanends
I am still pushing to reduce speed on the Seven Mile Straight, as well as pushing better broadband and better footpaths – the efforts will continue.
Ballynure
I look forward to becoming more involved in Ballynure. I think the A8 spend by the government cannot be justified and will keep fighting to ensure it is spent better elsewhere. The relief road is not now needed.
Ballyrobert
I have enjoyed welcoming local residents to Stormont and hope that other areas and churches will also plan a visit. Planning, bus shelters and other issues remain.
Ballyduff/New Mossley/Carnmoney
Working closely with community groups and the NI Housing Executive I have enjoyed getting to grips with these areas and look forward to doing more.
Doagh
I have enjoyed working on the Masterplan to try to find solutions to the major traffic problems along with protecting the beauty of the village and the many historic sites. Helping the residents’ group and the many problems in Anderson Park have been important to me.
Ballyclare
Helping Ollardale, Huntingdale and the Grange with crime issues, gritting and many other matters continue. My colleagues Jim Bingham and Vera McWilliam are, as always, a huge support. The masterplan and the new Holm Project must be helped to revitalize the town.
